Hall has made her mark as a songwriter, penning tunes for Debby Boone, Amy Grant and others. Here, she enters the high-tech world of synthesizers that cover her folk roots and present her in AM commercial form. This album will surprise many and could be a sleeping giant, especially «Sparrow Watcher». There is a strong demand for great records, and Hall has supplied one. [Billboard Magazine, January 19, 1985 (Reviews/Gospel Picks)]

Pam Mark Hall is one of the first ladies of contemporary Christian music, a valuable voice of experience who just keeps getting better. That voice is itself a marvelous instrument, able to segue effortlessly from pounding rockers to wispy, gentle ballads. Couple it with consistently probing, intelligent lyrics, and you’ve got Supply and Demand.

There are no less than seven superior cuts here in a variety of rock-based styles. «The Agony and the Glory» is a savvy mixture of pop and rock, complex without sounding complicated (what Amy Grant might sound like in a few years). «Find the Glory There» is a triumphant synthesized rocker, a la Russ Taff, while «Walk by Faith» is passionate rock with more of Pam’s introspective lyrics.

The slow stuff’s just as good and probably even more commercial. «Our God Reigns», a true ballad, is a worshipful, lyrical affirmation of faith, convincingly sung. «Sparrow Watcher», in an even more subdued vein, is a lovely hymn of hope with vocals from Reunion stable-mates Amy Grant and Kathy Troccoli.

Pam Mark Hall combines contemporary Christian music’s past, present, and future. Beautifully. [Bob Darden, CCM, March 1985]
