Liz Vice – Save Me

Description

Save Me is the sophomore album by the American singer and songwriter Liz Vice, self-released in June 2018.

The long-awaited second album from Oregon-based singer/songwriter Liz Vice is quite simply breathtaking and most definitely worth the wait. Those who stumbled upon the Portland artist via her earthy 2015 debut ‘There’s A Light‘ or her smattering of guest appearances on other people’s records will know that Vice’s voice is sublime and this release highlights the power and fragility that coexists within each vocal performance. Setting the scene for a brooding album that explores the singer’s faith in Jesus with candid realism, the drone-based «Drift Away» sees Vice quietly advocate the need to be anchored to the Saviour before letting the mist shift with the breezy and optimistic soul of «Baby Hold On». Elsewhere, the cautionary and thought-provoking «Brick By Brick» and reserved joy of «Fancy Feet» further showcase Vice’s ability to portray different moods, styles and textures within the space of a single album. Influenced by a life-threatening illness earlier in her life and her reliance on God, the stunning «To Dance With Death» – complete with striking imagery and an assured performance from all involved – is the standout track here and showcases Vice’s ability to offer up something truly out of this world.
