Description

Onward… is the sophomore and final album by the American soul/R&B combo Jubal, independently released on Wheat Records in 1982. The album was recorded by Rufus Harris Jr. assisted by Doris J. Harris and Duane Blackmon at Masterpiece Sound Studios in Detroit, Michigan in co-op with Harvest Sound in Westland, Michigan; with band member Rufus Harris Jr. producing for Wheat Productions. Mixed by Harris Jr. and Sidney – Tyrone Howard. All songs arranged by Jubal with synthesized horn and string arrangements by Howard. All songs written by Rufus Harris, Jr. except “I Always Will” written by Paul Kelley.

Jubal is Carney Edmondson and Mary Burks on vocals, Sidney – Tyrone Howard on keyboards, Lynn Kelley on flute, Rufus Harris, Jr. and Paul Kelley on guitars and vocals, Rheuben Blackmon on bass and vocals, Rod Dattilo on drums, and Marilyn Blackmon on percussion. Additional musicians on the album is Jean Butler on vocals, Donald Johnson on piano (track B3), Rayse Biggs on trumpet, Douglas “Bugs” Bedow on trombone, and Gary F. Bubash on saxophone (who also did the horn arrangements).
