Description
The Better Part of Me is the third full-length studio album by the American singer and songwriter Jason Gray (the album was credited to Jason Gay prior to him changing his artistic name to Jason Gray in 2006 with signing with Centricity), independently released on Now & Then Records in 2005, manufactured by Vision Vangogh. The album was produced by Matt Patrick and Nate Sabin.
Loser is not a label that most of us are looking for. Jason Gay embraces it with a fervor. Not in some depressing, downer kind of way, but in a way that speaks of humility before our Creator. On this his fifth CD, Jason Gay reflects on the love of God that lifts him up no matter how many times he falls.
Production wise, this CD is smooth. It sounds very professional. Ready to ship to your nearest Christian bookstore. Especially nice is the horn work on «Grace». Featuring guest appearances from Joel Hanson (PFR), Sara Groves, Lori Chaffer (Waterdeep), and Andrew Peterson, the sound is put together very well. Check this CD out for meaningful lyrics that touch the loser in all of us.
There was also a promotional DVD enclosed that provided a neat look into the world of Jason Gay. From his tongue-in-cheek feelings about how hard it his to handle his gift of “good looks and talent” to a live performance video, it’s worth the time to check it out.
