Holy Soldier

Description

The self-titled debut album by the American hard rock/metal band Holy Soldier was released on Myrrh Records in 1990, a division of Word. Also manufactured and distributed by A&M Records. The album was recorded at Wayne Cook Studios in Glendale, at the Mixing Lab B in Huntington Beach, and at Neverland Studios and Pakaderm Studios in Los Alamitos, California; with David Zaffiro of Bloodgood fame producing. Mixed by Joe Chiccarelli.

Holy Soldier features Steven Patrick on lead vocals, Jamie Cramer and Michael Cutting on guitars, and a rhythm section consisting of Andy Robbins on bass and Terry Russel on drums.

Released in 1990, Holy Soldier at that time, was the highest selling debut release on Word Records in seven years, charting at No. 7 on Billboard Magazine‘s CCM sales chart. The band garnered two Dove Awards; in the Hard Music Song of the Year and Hard Music Album of the Year categories.
