Description
The self-titled, sole album by the American jazz-fusion group 40:31 was released on the Japanese label Pony Canyon in 1990. (The name was taken from Isaiah 40:31.) It is an instrumental album produced by Bud Nuanez of Seawind fame and Neil Oda. All songs written by Bud Nuanez except track 5 co-written by Nuanez and Frank Zotolli, as well as track 4 written by Dave Thomasson and track 6 written by Bob Wilson.
The group was formed by former Seawind members Buddy Nuanez and Bob Wilson, as well as saxophonist Dave Thomasson, a former member of ORU’s Souls of Fire. The album features Buddy Nuanez on guitar, Russell Ferrante om keyboards and organ, Dave Thomasson on soprano and tenor saxophone, Jimmy Johnson on bass, Bob Wilson on drums, and Alex Acuna of Koinonia fame on percussion. Also featuring Leon Patillo as well as former Seawind horn players Jerry Hey (on flugel horn) and Kim Hutchcroft (on alto flute), as well as former Seawind bassist Ken Wild.
