Unfailing Love is an album by the Norwegian-American singer Evie (Evie Tornquist Karlsson), released on Word Records in 1981. The album was recorded and mixed by Chris Taylor at Whitefield Studios in Santa Ana, California; with Pelle Karlsson producing and arranging.
According to the December 1981 issue of CCM Magazine, Unfailing Love was among the 15 top selling CCM albums released in 1981.
It has been over two years since Evie has released a solo album. Her previous work, ‘Never The Same‘, was her first pairing with husband Pelle Karlsson as producer and the results were disappointing. On ‘Unfailing Love’ (Word, WSB-8867) however, Pelle’s production and arrangements are rich and full. The songwriting, most of which Pelle does also, has matured and deepened.
What about Evie? Yep, she’s still one of the best singers around, but her vocalizing has changed. The songs here are expressions of devotion and love for the Lord, and one senses that these are not merely performances but rather heartfelt sentiments. These are not cute ditties by a dimpled gospel star but reverent, sincere songs of praise reflecting the personal attitudes of Evie and Pelle.
