Reflections of the Man Inside

Description

Reflections of the Man Inside is an album by the American singer, songwriter, and keyboardist Eddie Robinson, released on Myrrh Records in 1974, a division of Word. The album was engineered by John Lewis with Ernest Kelley producing for Kingdom of Truth Music. String arrangements by Jimmy Roach, rhythm arrangements by Paul Riser, and vocal arrangements by Eddie Robinson. All songs composed by Eddie Robinson. It is said to be the final recording out of Detroit’s Motown studio, including original Motown studio musicians, arrangers and engineers.

One album track, “I Give My All To Thee”, was featured on the multi-artist sampler album Love Peace Joy released by Myrrh Records the same year.

Eddie Robinson was one of the first to try to merge CCM with serious R&B style, after Andrae Crouch, and thus paved the way for CCM artists to come, like Jon Gibson. ‘Reflections of the Man Inside’ sounds at times like an old Spinners LP.

The Myrrh record of Eddie Robinson, “I Thank You Father,” has crossed over from gospel to R&B. [A note featured in the Gospel News section of Billboard Magazine, April 20, 1974]
