All the Houses Look the Same

Description

All the Houses Look the Same is an album by the American indiepop band Deas Vail, released on Brave New World in March 2007, distributed by WEA. The album was produced and recorded by Mark Lee Townsend. Mixed by J.R. McNeely.

Chicago-based Deas Vail have waited a while for this album to see the light of day, but now it is here it is well worth the wait. With classically trained vocals, multiple synth lines, a grungy guitar and a rock solid rhythm section the band pump out complex but very listenable rock. While the lyrics are not always overtly spiritual – they are sometimes just plain cryptic – they are intelligent and delivered with some beautiful melodies. The songs are all well crafted and produced and they never grate or try to hard. All in all an excellent debut album and a sign of a great things to come. [Tim Holden, Cross Rhythms, August 2007]
