The Kindling is a studio album by the American singer, songwriter, and producer Bill Baumgart, released on Frontline Records in 1988, distributed by The Benson Company. The album was recorded by Bill Baumgart, Dave Jahnsen, Eric Kibbe, Kirt Shearer, and Tim Heintz at Asylomar Productions in Huntington Beach, California; with Bill Baumgart producing and arranging.

Note: Simultaneously released on cassette and CD by Frontline Records. The album tracks “No More Night” and “The Only Game In Town” (b/w) were released as a two-sided 7-inch single by Frontline Records. Frontline did also release a 12-inch Radio EP featuring “I Will Be There” and “The Kindling” on the A-side with “Praise Medley (I Love You)” on the B-side, all album tracks.
