I’ve Got the Love / God Leads a Sheltered Life [7-inch single]

Description

“I’ve Got the Love” – b/w “God Leads a Sheltered Life” – is a two-sided 7-inch vinyl single by the American pop group Armageddon, released on Creative Sound in May 1971 (catalogue number CSS 300 Stereo). Both tracks taken from the group’s full-length album The Armageddon Experience released by Campus Crusade for Christ associated MM Records the same year, recorded at Mark Studio in Hollywood, California; and at Summit Sound Studio in Dallas, Texas; with Michael Omartian (listed here as Mike Omartian) and Jim Williams producing. Both tracks written by Michael Omartian.

The words of religion are placed into a gospel-rock style of music to create a holy feeling throughout… extols the virtues of the true path in life and calls to lead the listener onto that higher plain. Unquestionable good listening and a good influence to every audience in the radio medium. [Billboard Magazine, “Special Merit Pick”]

THE ARMAGEDDON EXPERIENCE is the result of a successful national tour that took Armageddon to many college campuses. The group has recently completed an extensive tour of major colleges including Purdue, Michigan State, Ohio State, Georgia Tech and Indiana; also the University of Miami, University of Texas, University of Georgia, University of Kentucky, and the University of Arkansas. They completed a 10-day engagement at Daytona Beach during the Easter Break, 1970.

The group consists of Dennis Dordigan, Jon Gilbert, Larry Ashley, Gary Lesniewski, John Thompson, Kathy McEver, Laurie Steen and Pam Jovic. Included are graduates of U.C.L.A. and Ohio State; some are continuing their education at the universities of Chicago, Missouri and Arizona with majors in such areas as Marketing, Economics and Education. All eight have performed with other successful acts before being “computer matched” for The Armageddon Experience.

Armageddon means a great decisive conflict. As a group The Armageddon Experience presents conflict to their many audiences. As part of the activist generation, they have decided not only to sing but also to speak out on the problems that confront this nation. They speak of the problems but dwell with a solution. Because their solution is of a controversial nature, they tend to divide their audience.

Their message is that of a spiritual revolution. Individually, they have found a living answer in a living reality – a releationship with a person – Jesus Christ. They can not be called religious but can be called Christian because of their life-style. They speak of views people have of God – from “God Leads A Sheltered Life” to “I’ve Got The Love That’s Good For You And Me.”

Their brand of music is thus an experience that is exciting because they are not just another group “tripping out”, rather, each one is an authentic portrayal of the message of hope proclaimed… [Note on the flip-side of the insert]

The Armageddon Experience

The Armageddon Experience will engulf us all. Armageddon is coming. It’s in the Book. These explosive times are but a prelude to the things which are to come. That which is shall be no more and that which has not been is soon to be.

Will history ever get it all together? The Armageddon Experience throbs an emphatic “Yes” … Someone is there who comes to make it so. He promises to make it so. Someone is there to make it right – He promises to make it right. We all want it to be right. THE WHOLE WORLD WANTS IT TO BE RIGHT!

Armageddon looms before us to announce the Crown’s Arrival. It is the end of hurt and death.

ARMAGEDDON IS COMING, IT’S IN THE BOOK.

Can you dig it?
