Description
Rhythms of Remembrance is an album by the American electronic music group apt.core, released on Rocketown Records in 2001, manufactured and distributed by Word Music Group.
Close the curtans, light the candles, reach to the CD shelf between Secret Archives Of The Vatican and Orbital’s ‘Middle Of Nowhere’ and there sits Aptcore, ‘Rhythms Of Remembrance’, a 45 minute offering of chilled out beats and sounds to relax too. Each track has a meditation recited over it with all the Bible verses helpfully printed next to the titles in the insert. Meditation is the album’s greatest strength and weakness, if you want to meditate on another portion of God’s word the vocals are too promintent and distract you from it forcing you to stick with the prescribed verse. The cover of U2’s «40» is not so obvious as to detract from the rest of the tracks. A friend of mine had to tell me it was their’s before I read the small print!. Full credit to Michael W Smith‘s Rocketown for striking a worshipful note in the post-club chill scene. [Howard Williams, Cross Rhythms, September 2001]
