Description
The self-titled, sole album by the British pop/rock band Trade Secret was released in the UK on Edge Records in 1987. (It was the first release by Edge Records, a label established by Kingsway Music as a home for edgier, youth-oriented music.) The album was recorded at ICC Studios in Eastbourne, England; with band members Mal Pope and Neil Costello producing. Mixed by Costello and Les Moir.
The short lived band featured well-known British session musicians such as keyboard player Maldwyn “Mal” Pope, guitarist Neil Costello and Costello’s soon to be wife Julie Moon (of Oasis fame) on lead vocals; and a rhythm section consisting of Les Moir om bass and Bobby Clarke of Paradise fame on drums, with Karlos Edwards providing percussion. Unfortunately, despite a band being crammed with talent the album didn’t sell. (During the early 1980s, Moir and Costello actually did played together in the German/Canadian pop/rock band Deliverance, which were sort of the Delirious? of their day in Germany, and recorded two albums with the band.)
