The Lost Get Found is the sophomore major label album by the American singer and songwriter Britt Nicole, released on Sparrow Records in 2009, manufactured by EMI CMG Label Group, distributed in the US by EMI CMG Distribution. The album was recorded at Glorified Mono Studio in Franklin and Dutchland Studios in Nashville, Tennessee; with Robert Marvin (tracks 1-3, 5, 6, 8, and 11), Dan Muckala (tracks 4, 7, 9, and 10), Adam Smith (track 2), and Joshua Crosby (track 5) producing. All songs co-written by Britt Nicole. The album peaked at No 1 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart.
This is pop nearing perfection. Remarkably, every track on this, Britt’s second album, has the potential to become a US/UK mainstream number one hit with sufficient airplay. That success is beginning to show with the album and the title track single both hitting number one on the US Christian charts. With slightly breathy, sultry, intimate verses balanced with powerful choruses, each song radiates such positivity that you wonder how they managed to get the rainbows and sunshine packaged in. Track five sums it up as “Love’s coming through your headphones”. The prolific use of the non-lyrical vocals such as “Hey, hey, oh, oh” are a peculiar highlight as they scan well into the bouncy melody lines, and are well positioned to fit into the rhyming scheme; ie, “Oh, oh”, “we ain’t getting caught in the undertow”, “dance everywhere we go” and “turn the lights down so we can glow, glow”. Musically targeted at excitable teenage girls, the Christian aspect is brilliantly natural and portrays God as a normal integrated part of any teenager’s life without dumbing down or hyped worship and is a major credit to Britt’s songwriting. As a pop album it fits into a mainstream genre and consequently sounds similar to singers like Avril Lavigne, which is no bad thing. [Simon Eden, Cross Rhythms, September 2009]
