The sleeve of this CD ironically pictures an idyllic nuclear family from a bygone age smiling in their car in a pleasant manner. However, quite the opposite is portrayed in an album that looks at the different struggles of the present day “Generation X” to find faith in Jesus. The opening track «God Is Believable» serves as a fine rock anthem for disaffected youth to find an alternative eternal hope. In the next track, «Say What You Want», bluesy, grungy guitars are counterbalanced by a soulful Hammond organ. This musical juxtaposition is also found in the lyrical content of the album (with which producer Matt Huesmann has a large pan to play). For where the band is never shy to confront a wide range of “real issues” such as drug addiction, unemployment and dysfunctional families, it always ministers an encouragement to find faith, hope, forgiveness and love. Indeed, there are moments of reflection and sobriety in tracks such as «For Tomorrow», «No Mistake» and most notably «Sacred Delight» which is almost painfully beautiful. All in all though, it is the toe tapping, bass slapping hooks that will bring a smile to the listener. Quintessentially great car music. A positive, upbeat message is driven smoothly along this Nashville freeway. [Graham Jovanovic, Cross Rhythms, April 1998]
