The Builder and the Architect is the fourth album by the American singer and songwriter Sandra McCracken, independently released in 2005. The album was produced and recorded by Sandra McCracken and Derek Webb at Sumner Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Mixed by Russ Long at The Carport in Nashville.

Featuring vocals by Sandra McCracken and Derek Webb, who also played guitar, banjo, piano, keyboards, accordion, bells and shakers. As well featuring various guest musicians.
