Breathe

Description

Breathe is the sole album by the American industrial project Erinfall (Johann Fontamillas & Wilson Peralta), released on N*Soul Records/Velocity Music Group in 1997, distributed in the US by Diamante Music Group.

A change of name and direction for the band that was formerly Mindbender who played trance/techno. Now they have morphed into Erinfall, who have a diverse range of influences. In fact, it was difficult to pin them down to a particular style. I’ve opted for industrial as the album combines ambient/techno/grunge guitars and distorted vocals in a few songs, but perhaps this fails to be absolutely accurate in its description. This makes for a wonderfully creative mix and I believe a vast improvement on their previous offering. Lyrically the album is straitforward, however it’s difficult to pick up the lyrics through the heavy guitars and distorted vocals. Over half the album is instrumental with sampled voices enhancing most tracks. If you’re looking for something different and creative this is a lot better than most of the fodder occupying Christian bookstores and even more so than secular record stores, so give these guys a try.
