Soul of a DJ is an album by the American dance/techno artist AJ Mora, released on N*Soul Records in 2001.
The long awaited follow up to the DJ’s ‘Transformed‘ set, this arrests the listener from the first moment. An eerily slowed down voice welcomes us to the ‘Soul Of A DJ’. “The Soul,” it says, “is the trophy of the battle between good and evil.” The theme of the soul is continued as we experience God deep within our souls. And thumping tracks with the sounds of crashing symbols get us to lift our hands and blow our whistles. There are also some more gentle tracks with laid back R&B to get you grooving to the love of God. On other tracks varying the speed of vocals is used to wonderful effect. A standout for me was «Lift Me Higher», a high energy track with joyful lyrics. When you play this CD get ready to praise God as you dance. It’s perfect for a sanctified dance event.
