Description
Necessary Measures is the sophomore album by the American R&B duo Dawkins and Dawkins, released on Benson Records in 1994, distributed by Benson Music Group.
Nelson Word dropped a ball by failing to release Dawkins And Dawkins wonderful (and in America highly successful) debut album last year but coming to their senses they’ve now put out this goodie which is every bit as funky and radio-friendly as its predecessor. With Atlanta producers Tim And Ted (Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown, A Few Good Men, etc), Jett Penix (Mike-E) and Michael Anthony Taylor the resulting album skilfully puts together R&B-gospel ballads and some serious dance grooves. The vocals ooze soulful confidence, there are hooks a plenty and this is an album that could well get serious crossover attention. [Tony Cummings, Cross Rhythms, June 1994]
