Crazy Times [CD Maxi-single]

Description

Crazy Times is a four-track Enhanced CD Maxi-Single by the American alternative pop band Jars of Clay, released on Essential Records in August 1997, manufactured and distributed by Provident Music Group (catalogue number 83061-0187-2). The title track was taken from the band’s soon to be released full-length album Much Afraid released on Essential Records the same year, produced and mixed by Stephen Lipson with Heff Moraes engineering. The title track was co-written by Dan Haseltine, Greg Wells, Mark Hudson, and Steve Mason. The other tracks on the maxi-single were co-written by the band (Charlie Lowell, Dan Haseltine, Matt Odmark, and Steve Mason).

Crazy Times was the first single from the album Much Afraid. The single fared well in the mainstream, peaking at No. 38 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. The demo version of the song can be found on the album The White Elephant Sessions, while a live version of the song is included on the 2003 double album, Furthermore: From the Studio, From the Stage. This song also appears on the WOW 1999 compilation album.

Also released in the UK featuring a slightly different tracklist (Crazy Times / The Chair / Weighed Down) and no enhanced content, as well as different cover artwork. The title track was also released as a one-track US radio promo CD single.
