In the Light is a CD-single by the American singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and producer Charlie Peacock, released on Sparrow Records in November 1991 (catalogue number SGD 1303-1). The track was taken from Peacock’s full-length album Love Life released on Sparrow Records in October the same year, recorded and mixed during Summer and Fall of 1991 by Rick Will at Sixteenth Avenue Sound in Nashville, Tennessee; with Charlie Peacock and Will producing. Written by Charlie Peacock.

A.W. Tozer said, “It is not what a man does that determines whether his work is sacred or secular. It is why he does it. The motive is everything. Let a man sanctify the Lord God in his heart and he can after do no common act.” LOVE LIFE is certainly no common act. It is an album full of music and lyrics born out of a search for truth and honesty. The heart of a man and a woman who asked God to shine His light on the darkest places of their souls and allow healing to take place no matter how painful the process. LOVE LIFE is Charlie Peacock and his wife Andi. Their search, their insight, their healing and their willingness to share it with others.

Charlie says, “Love Life is another chapter in my Christ centered, artistic journey. It is my attempt to create an honest work of art to the glory of God. I believe that all of life is lived out under the gaze of God, from our worship to our sex life, from the deep pain of the soul to the sound of laughter. The God of the universe, the author of life and love sees my every move and knows my every thought. There is nothing hidden from his view. It is my hope that these ten songs reflect that belief. This is the ‘Christian’ that I want to model for my children both in my music and in my life.”

“In The Light” could be called the crux of LOVE LIFE. Light has to shine in the darkness before what is in that darkness can be seen. As we submit ourselves to the redemption of Christ in every area of our lives, we can then find ourselves “In The Light.” [CD single liner notes]
