It Shall Be

Description

It Shall Be is an album by the American folk-rock duo Sonship (Howard Mark-Mandel and Nancy J. Helms), released on Messianic Records in 1977. The abum was produced by Rick “Levi” Coghill of Lamb fame. Arranged by the duo.

Though released on the Messianic label, only «Shma» and «Sing Allelujah» bear any resemblance to Lamb’s minor-key sounds. Howard and Nancy both play guitar and are backed by members of Glad, giving a fuller sound (and light MOR sheen) to their acoustic pop-flavored tunes. If early Glad had had a female lead this is what they might have sounded like («It Is Good» would appear on Glad’s Beyond A Star). A somewhat ordinary LP redeemed by the moody six-minute aforementioned «Sing Hallelujah». Eye-catching cover of the duo emerging from above the clouds, Nancy in a wild Maxi jumper.
