Description

The Great American Novel – b/w “Mrs. Oliver” – is a two-sided 7-inch vinyl single (Myrrh MS-123) by the American singer and songwriter Gene Cotton, released on Myrrh Records in 1973, a division of Word. Both tracks taken from Cotton’s album Liberty released the following year, recorded by Charlie Tallent and Curt Allen at Clement Recording Studio in Nashville, Tennessee; with Tallent producing. Strings arranged by Beegie Cruser.

The track on the A-side is a song written by Larry Norman (originally recorded on his 1972-album Only Visiting This Planet), while the song on the flip-side is written by Gene Cotton.
