Voice of the Wind

Description

Voice of the Wind, sub-titled Personal Worship Vol. 1, is the eighth solo album by the American singer and songwriter Chuck Girard of Love Song fame, independently released on Girard’s own label Seven Thunders Records in 1996. Live material was recorded at Westbrook Chapel in Bakersfield with overdubs recorded at Peace in the Valley Recording in Arleta, California; engineered by Joe Bellamy and produced by Chuck Girard. Mixed by Girard and Bellamy. Orchestrated by Smitty Price.

Featuring Caleb Quaye on guitar, Maurice Sklar on violin, John Patitucci on bass, and Mike Fickling on drums, with Jeff Bunnell playing Piccolo Trumpet on “Days Are Young”. Background vocals by Chuck Girard and daughter Alisa, who is featured on duets and special parts as well.

All songs written by Chuck Girard except “As The Deer” by Marty Nystrom, “Abba Father” by Steve Fry, as well as the Bill Sprouse classic “Psalm 5“. The album also includes covers of two old Girard classics; “And The Wind Was Low” and “Sometimes Alleluia”. The first song was originally recorded by Love Song on their self-titled debut album released in 1972, and the latter one – “Sometimes Alleluia” – was originally recorded by Girard on his self-titled solo debut album back in 1975.
