‘Til You Came In… is an album by the Canadian folk/pop duo Abraham and Moses (Abraham Cardenas and Moses Perez), released on New Born Records in 1980, a division of Praise Industries Corp. The album was recorded and mixed by Scott Gelnett at Susquehanna Sound in Northumberland, Pennsylvania; and was produced by Ed Nalle of Glad fame, Gelnett, as well as Abraham and Moses. Arranged by Abraham and Moses, Bob Kauflin, Don Nalle, Mark Farley, and Ed Nalle. Strings and horns arranged by Walt Straiton, III.
Featuring Abe and Moe on rhythm guitar and vocals, backed by a session band consisting of Bob Kauflin on piano and keyboards, Chris Davis on lead guitar, Don Nalle (Carlton Robertson) on bass, Mark Farley on drums, and Craig Lauterback on percussion, with Jim Gambini sitting in on flugelhorn. I’ve heard this sound before. It’s that same acoustic-laced orchestrated male duo soft rock style as fellas like Stewart & Kyle, Christian Stephens, Gospel Seed, Shiloh, Jim & Jerome, you get the idea. Certainly no complaints here though, as Abraham Cardenas and Moses Perez’s pleasant melodies rank with the best of them. Songs like «Upon You Lord», «Til You Came In» and «I’ll Follow You» are carried along by a lucid acoustic guitar framework, supplemented by such instruments as piano, electric piano, electric guitar, percussion, strings and flugelhorn. «You Send Me Love», «Open Your Heart» and «A Prayer For You» are purely acoustic numbers that highlight the duo’s fragile stirring harmonies, while «Natural High», the bluesy «Cool» and the jazz-funky «Work» have the guys putting on a mildly heavier electric edge.
