Description
Voice is the sophomore and final studio album by the British rock group Barratt Band, released in the UK on Chapel Lane in 1983, and as well on Refuge Records in the US. The album was recorded by Derek Murray at Chapel Lane Studios in Hereford, England; with Norman Barratt producing. Mixed and mastered by Vic Coppersmith (who earlier had worked with bands like The Jam, Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, as well as Norman Barratt’s former band Gravy Train). All songs written by Norman Barratt except tracks A1 and B4 co-written with Dave Morris.
Lead vocalist/guitarist Norman Barratt and keyboardist Dave Morris were the only remaining members from the band’s founding. On this final Barratt Band effort, the rhythm section features bassists Dave Markee (of Eric Clapton band fame) and Les Williams (a former bandmate of Norman Barratt from his days with Gravy Train), as well as drummer Dave Engel of Glyder fame (a Warner Brothers signed Irish classic rock band active during the 1970s).
